About Me |
|
Humans are constantly blessed with happy memories. It is my desire to provide a ceremony that is exactly right for you so that it will be happy, memorable and stress free. I will meet with you to learn your wishes and then design a ceremony to meet, and hopefully exceed, your expectations. You will have complete control over all aspects of the ceremony at all times. A celebrant is there to facilitate your requirements. I provide a range of resources and formats for ceremonies and encourage clients’ contributions to ensure a ceremony which fully respects and reflects their aspirations. Friends and family are welcome to participate. A doting grandfather, I am always happy to work with children and strongly welcome their involvement if desired. As one of the new generation of trained Authorised Marriage Celebrants, I am an active and proud member of the several professional celebrants associations. I uphold their individual Codes of Ethics, in addition to the minimum prescribed by law. Having served on the committee of Celebrants Australia since 2006, I currently have the honour to be its President. My key interest is to promote and encourage professionalism within the industry, with particular emphasis on ethics and training. Married for 40 years, I have three adult children and six beautiful grandchildren. Other interests include genealogy, computing, classic cars (my own being a 1947 Austin Sixteen), and I’m a compulsive reader and studier. A lay minister with a mainline Christian church for 30+ years, I hold local, regional and national positions. I offer traditional, contemporary and Christian marriage ceremonies, and do not perform pagan, New Age or anti-Christian ceremonies. My professional career has been predominantly in purchasing and supply management. I have worked for major national and international companies in senior positions, and as an consultant to both the private and government sector. For a number of years I lectured at TAFE colleges in Purchasing and Logistics, and my consulting company was awarded the contract to provide purchasing training in Victorian for all Commonwealth Government departments and bodies. For many years I was a member of the peak Purchasing and Material Management body’s state and national councils (including State President and National Director of Professional Development). Additionally I have been active in numerous other professional associations, including the Australian Institute of Management and as a Fellow of The Australian Institute of Company Directors. I subscribe to the original (but unfortunately now out-dated) view that celebrancy is a privileged community service. Sharing in the joys and sorrows of life with people is a great honour. I believe that affordable, professional and quality ceremonies should be available to all persons and am very disappointed when I read belittling comments such as “If cost is your only consideration ….” or read of “cheap” weddings for those not wanting to pay high fees. I endeavour to tailor a ceremony to meet every budget, and do not try and up-sell clients with unnecessary expenses. Discounts are available to holders of the Commonwealth Health Card (low income or pension), and I will always try to accommodate people in genuine need. |
